Arizona has added Froholdt to its injury report and lists him as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers due to an illness, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Froholdt's illness presumably is something that popped up overnight and is now threatening his status for the Week 16 game. If Froholdt isn't cleared ahead of the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, the Cardinals will likely turn to Jon Gaines to serve as their starting center.
The Cardinals signed Froholdt to a two-year extension Monday. After spending just one season in Arizona, the Cardinals decided to secure Froholdt for the next two years with a contract extension. Froholdt was the Cardinals' top center in 2023, starting all 17 of the team's regular-season contests, and it now appears that he'll remain Arizona's top choice at center for the immediate future.
