Chase recorded three catches on six targets for 85 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Panthers. Chase was surprisingly relatively uninvolved in the offense, as Tee Higgins drew 10 targets and also led the team in receptions. However, Chase had the most impactful performance of the day thanks primarily to a 63-yard touchdown, during which he bounced off at least three potential tacklers over the middle of the field before sprinting down the sideline for the long score. After a modest start to the season, Chase has nine receptions for 203 yards and three touchdowns combined across the last two contests.

Ja’Marr Chase Latest News
Long TD makes day
Chase recorded three catches on six targets for 85 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Panthers.
Logs full practice Thursday
Chase (shoulder) practiced fully Thursday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. On Wednesday's estimated practice report, Chase was listed as limited due to a shoulder issue, but after logging a full session a day later to the relief of his fantasy managers, the star wideout is on track to face the Panthers on Sunday. Through three games to start the season, Chase leads the Bengals with 16 catches (on 18 targets) for 215 yards and two TDs.
Limited on practice estimate
Chase (shoulder) was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice estimate, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. The Bengals are holding a walk-through Wednesday, but if they had actually practiced, Chase would have been limited by a shoulder issue. Added context regarding the wideout's Week 4 status will arrive no later than Thursday, but so far there's nothing to suggests that Chase is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Breaks out in big way Monday
Chase hauled in six of seven targets for 118 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns in Monday's 38-33 loss to Washington. Chase teamed up with fellow LSU Tiger Joe Burrow to put up monster fantasy lines in a narrow defeat on Monday Night Football. The superstar wideout had been stymied in his first two appearances of 2024, the sum of which (97 yards and no touchdowns) fails to match Monday's output alone. With a signature game in the books, Chase's offseason contract drama seems like a distant memory as the receiver looks to build off this performance in Week 4 against the Panthers.
Receives all of defense's attention
Chase was limited to four receptions (five targets) for 35 yards in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Chiefs. Chase was constantly bracketed by safety help all game long with Tee Higgins (hamstring) remaining sidelined due to injury. The Bengals' offense sputtered against a challenging defensive unit Sunday, but Chase's fantasy managers should not get any crazy ideas when setting lineups for the upcoming slate of games in Week 3. There is a good chance that the superstar wideout finally breaks out against a younger Washington defensive unit on Monday Night Football.
Six catches in season-opening loss
Chase secured all six targets for 62 yards in the Bengals' 16-10 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. The standout receiver couldn't parlay what was once an unlikely Week 1 appearance into a truly fruitful fantasy day, but Chase did set the pace for the Bengals in receptions and receiving yards while also tying for the team lead in targets. His outlook heading into the contest was decidedly murky, considering he'd been dealing with an illness, had practiced only a handful of times since the start of training camp and was still without the contract extension that had caused his summer-long hold-in. Nevertheless, Chase did help pick up some of the slack for the absent Tee Higgins (hamstring), but he was capped by the play of a relatively ineffective Joe Burrow. The entire Bengals offense will have to fix whatever ailed it Sunday in a hurry, as an exceedingly tough Week 2 road matchup against the Chiefs awaits.
Listed as active Sunday
Chase (illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Chase is not expected to reach agreement with the Bengals on a contract extension prior to Sunday's season opener, but that didn't deter Cincinnati from making the wideout active for Week 1. After being listed as a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday for non-injury related/rest reasons, Chase practiced fully Friday and labeled himself as a "game-time decision" for Sunday. The wideout was subsequently listed with an illness on Saturday's updated injury report, but with his active status for Sunday's contest ultimately confirmed, Chase is evidently feeling well enough to be in a position to contribute. However, Chase's workload could be modified, as the Bengals may be inclined to ease him back into the mix. Meanwhile, fellow receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) is inactive, which creates added opportunities versus New England for some combination of Andrei Iosivas, Trenton Irwin, Charlie Jones and Jermaine Burton.
Feeling better, could play Sunday
Chase (rest/illness) remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, but he showed improvement late Saturday and could be available for the Bengals' season opener, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Though Chase is still seeking a long-term contract extension with the Bengals, he ended his "hold-in" at practice and took part in workouts as a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to full activity Friday. He termed himself as a game-time decision following Friday's practice before he woke up ill Saturday, adding another potential complication to his availability leading into the season opener. However, with Chase's condition taking a turn for the better later Saturday, the wideout may be trending toward playing Sunday. Fowler notes that the Bengals have included Chase in their game plan this week, though the team could make some adjustments in the event he sits out. Further clarity on Chase's status won't arrive until Cincinnati releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, and even if he suits up, he could be subject to a more limited snap count than he typically handles after he missed all of training camp and the preseason.
Illness added to injury report
Chase, who still remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, had an illness added to his injury status Saturday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports. Chase has deployed a "hold-in" strategy off an on throughout training camp due to a contract dispute with the Bengals and suggested in comments Friday he would "decide" whether he can play Sunday. In the same press scrum, Chase also opined there was a remote possibility the two sides could come to an agreement on a massive extension Friday, but with the self-imposed deadline passing without any resolution, it's unclear if the latest injury update is related to the uneasy contract situation or something merely coincidental. Tee Higgins (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Week 1, so if Chase is unable to play, the unheralded duo of Andrei Iosivas and Jermaine Burton will be tasked with a significant workload.
