Rhattigan was unable to practice all week due to a knee injury and an illness, so it's no surprise he'll miss Carolina's Week 7 contest. The Army product had appeared in all six of the Panthers' games prior to his injury, recording four total tackles across 122 special-teams snaps.
Rhattigan was claimed off waivers by the Panthers on Wednesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. Rhattigan was let go by the Seahawks on Tuesday after he compiled 13 total tackles (six solo), including a sack, during the preseason with Seattle. He will now look to impress with Carolina, opening the season as a depth option at interior linebacker behind the likes of Shaq Thompson and Josey Jewell.
