Britt recorded nine tackles (six solo) and one pass defensed during Monday's 30-24 overtime loss at Kansas City. Despite rotating off the field more frequently than he had in other recent games, Britt still played 45 defensive snaps Monday, and he totaled six-plus tackles for the sixth time in his last seven outings. As long as he holds onto his starting spot, he'll remain on the IDP radar as the year continues.

K.J. Britt Latest News
Racks up nine tackles Monday
Britt recorded nine tackles (six solo) and one pass defensed during Monday's 30-24 overtime loss at Kansas City. Despite rotating off the field more frequently than he had in other recent games, Britt still played 45 defensive snaps Monday, and he totaled six-plus tackles for the sixth time in his last seven outings. As long as he holds onto his starting spot, he'll remain on the IDP radar as the year continues.
Double-digit tackles vs. Falcons
Britt recorded 10 total tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 31-26 loss to the Falcons. Britt was the Buccaneers' leading-tackler in Sunday's loss, setting a new season high with 10 total stops. The fourth-year pro from Auburn has now tallied 49 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, through Tampa Bay's first eight games this year. He's expected to continue starting alongside Lavonte David (ankle) as part of the Buccaneers' top inside linebacker duo as the season progresses.
Six-tackle effort in loss
Britt recorded six tackles (five solo) in the Buccaneers' 26-7 loss to the Broncos on Sunday. Britt tied with several teammates for third in tackles on the afternoon. The fourth-year pro played on 35 snaps (51 percent) overall, and he's accrued a solid 15 tackles (10 solo) in his part-time role thus far.
No restrictions Thursday
Britt (illness) was a full participant during Thursday's practice. Britt was limited Wednesday due to an illness, but the 2021 fifth-round pick appears to have moved past that issue. He accrued five tackles (three solo) and played 42 snaps (38 on defense, four on special teams) in the Bucs' Week 1 win over the Commanders.
Under the weather
Britt (illness) was limited during practice Wednesday. Britt's illness didn't keep him off the field Wednesday, so it's likely not significant enough to keep him out Sunday against the Lions. His practice status in the days ahead will still be worth watching though to be certain whatever is ailing him doesn't get progressively worse.
Ready for bigger role
Head coach Todd Bowles indicated Wednesday that Britt is ready to play all three downs and is becoming a leader on defense, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Britt has also been grasping the mental part of the game according to coach Bowles. The 24-year-old recorded 29 tackles (16 solo) and one pass defensed last season. It looks like he will be in line for a bigger role in the upcoming campaign when he starts at inside linebacker next to Lavonte David.
