Activated Wednesday
Green (shoulder) was activated off injured reserve Wednesday. The 2022 first-round pick from Texas A&M practiced in full Tuesday and has now been activated from injured reserve, paving the way for him to return for Houston's Week 16 matchup against the Chiefs. With Green back at full health, he's expected to serve as one of the Texans' top reserve guards Saturday.
Not playing Sunday
Green (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with the Dolphins. The offensive guard was designated to return from injured reserve Dec. 9, opening his 21-day window to practice with the team. Despite the designation, Green will now miss his fifth game in a row. The 2022 first-round pick has started all nine contests he's played in this season and 23 of 24 since joining the Texans.
Verge of return
Green (shoulder) was designated to return from injured reserve Monday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. Green missed the minimum four games while tending to a shoulder injury. He'll now have a 21-day window to practice with the team before needing to be placed on the 53-man roster. If healthy enough, he could suit up Sunday against the Dolphins.
Officially sent to IR
The Texans placed Green (shoulder) on injured reserve Friday. Green injured his shoulder in last Thursday night's loss to the Jets and will now miss a minimum of four games. Kendrick Green is expected to take over at left guard for Houston.
Set to be placed on IR
Green (shoulder) is expected to be placed on injured reserve in the near future, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Green suffered a separated shoulder in Thursday's 21-13 loss to the Jets, which will sideline him for the foreseeable future. The offensive guard does have a chance at making a return late in the season depending on how well he progresses in rehab, according to Rapoport. In the meantime, Kendrick Green will likely take over at left guard for Houston.
Done for night
Green (shoulder) has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday's contest against the Jets. Green went down with a shoulder injury in the first half and he'll now be forced to sit out the rest of the game. Kendrick Green will remain in at left guard versus New York.
Questionable to return
Green (shoulder) is questionable to return to Thursday's contest against the Jets. Green suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter and his status for the rest of the contest is now up in the air. In the meantime, Kendrick Green replaced him on the offensive line.
Participating in OTAs
Green (shoulder) is a full participant at the Texans' organized team activities, Coty Davis of SI.com reports. Green's 2023 season came to a premature end after a shoulder injury landed him on injured reserve during training camp. Prior to that, he started 14 of 15 games as a rookie. All-in-all, he allowed 47 pressures, 31 hurries, 12 quarterback hits and five sacks at left guard. The Texas A&M product is expected to compete for the chance to reclaim his role as one of Houston's starting five offensive linemen.
Competing for starting role
Texans' GM Nick Caserio told reporters Thursday that Green (shoulder) must earn his starting spot as the offseason progresses, Cole Thompson of USA Today reports. Green sustained a shoulder injury during the Texans' preseason finale that forced him to miss the entire 2023 season, but his rehab process has been going well and he could partake in voluntary offseason workouts this week. Once he's able to return to the field, the 2022 first-round pick is expected to compete with Kendrick Green for Houston's top left guard position.
