Philadelphia signed Foelsch to its practice squad Wednesday. Foelsch was cut from the Eagles' practice squad back in September, but he's now back where he started the season. With starter Dallas Goedert (knee) recently having been placed on injured reserve, it makes some sense that Philadelphia is exploring depth options at tight end.

Foelsch has been let go from the Eagles' practice squad for the second time in September, this time to make room for safety Caden Sterns. Should he clear waivers, Foelsch will look to catch on with a team in need of tight end depth, likely on the practice squad.

The Eagles signed Foelsch to the practice squad Thursday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Foelsch was cut from the practice squad Sept. 3, but he is now back with the team after safety Caden Sterns was let go. Foelsch will give the Eagles depth at tight end should either Dallas Goedert or Grant Calcaterra be sidelined.

The tight end caught three passes for 17 yards with the Eagles in the preseason and he'll likely get another shot with a practice squad at his next destination.
Lands on Eagles' practice squad
Philadelphia signed Foelsch to its practice squad Sunday. Foelsch began training camp with the Jets and was claimed by the Eagles off waivers in early August. During the preseason slate, he caught three of six targets for 17 yards. As a member of the practice squad, Foelsch will provide important depth at tight end for the Eagles, as Dallas Goedert has been sidelined from practice due to an oblique injury, and Grant Calcaterra is the team's only other tight end currently on the 53-man roster.
Gets let go
Foelsch is set to be waived by the Eagles on Monday, Andrew DiCecco reports. Foelsch joined Philly after he was waived by the Jets on Aug. 2. An undrafted free agent out of New Haven he also had a run with the Panthers earlier in the spring, but was unable to stick there as well. The 23-year-old will likely end up working to earn a practice squad spot once 53-man rosters are set.

Foelsch was waived by the Jets on Friday, but he didn't have to wait long to latch on with a new team, and he'll take the spot of the recently waived McCallan Castles (undisclosed). It's the third team Foelsch has been on since being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Panthers in May. In his senior season at New Haven, Foelsch registered 32 catches for 318 yards and seven touchdowns. He'll look to compete for a depth spot at tight end behind Dallas Goedert.
