Retuns Sunday
Allegretti (ankle) is active Sunday against the Browns. Allegretti left last week's win over the Cardinals with the injury and was unable to return to the game. The Illinois product is now healthy enough to suit up and should get the start at left guard against Cleveland.
Doesn't return Sunday
Allegretti (ankle) exited Sunday's 42-14 win over the Cardinals and did not return. The starting guard contributed to a Washington offensive effort that ended with 216 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Allegretti has started all four games for the Commanders this season after signing a three-year, $16-million deal in the offseason.
Back with team
Allegretti (elbow) appears in line for a starting role with the Commanders after signing as a free agent in the offseason, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports. The guard started the Super Bowl for Kansas City with Joe Thuney out and suffered a UCL tear. Allegretti then signed a three-year, $16-million deal with Washington in March. The sixth-year pro played in 74 games in five seasons with the Chiefs, starting 13.
Commits to Commanders
Allegretti agreed to terms on a deal with Washington on Monday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports. Allegretti is getting a change of scenery, as he spent his first five seasons in Kansas City. The 27-year-old suffered a UCL tear in his elbow during the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory over the 49ers. There has been no word if that will impact his availability for training camp.
