Sermon had eight carries for 25 yards in Sunday's win over Tennessee. Sermon had his most carries since Week 7 as he got some work with the Colts having a large lead. Jonathan Taylor had 218 yards rushing and the Colts had 335 yards rushing, so Sermon isn't likely to get many carries next week unless a similar blowout scenario happens. Sermon had minimal work the previous five weeks (1 carry total) as Taylor has received almost every touch in the backfield.

Gets eight carries in win
Sermon had eight carries for 25 yards in Sunday's win over Tennessee. Sermon had his most carries since Week 7 as he got some work with the Colts having a large lead. Jonathan Taylor had 218 yards rushing and the Colts had 335 yards rushing, so Sermon isn't likely to get many carries next week unless a similar blowout scenario happens. Sermon had minimal work the previous five weeks (1 carry total) as Taylor has received almost every touch in the backfield.
Three touches against Denver
Sermon rushed once for three yards and caught both of his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Broncos. Sermon played just 18 of the Colts' 76 offensive snaps Sunday, while starter Jonathan Taylor continued to dominate the snap share with 52 snaps. The 25-year-old Sermon's rushing attempt against the Broncos in Week 15 was his first carry since Week 9. Barring an injury to Taylor, the veteran backup holds little value for fantasy purposes other than as an insurance policy. The Colts host the Titans in Week 16.
Opportunities remain sparse
Sermon saw five snaps on offense during the Colts' 25-24 win over the Patriots on Sunday, but he didn't receive a carry or target. Sermon continues to see little opportunity in a backfield dominated by Jonathan Taylor. The Ohio State product hasn't had a carry since Week 9, or a target in either of the team's last two contests. However, he was involved in the return game and had a 23-yard kick return Sunday. Indianapolis has a Week 14 bye, but Sermon will be back on the field in Week 15 against Denver, but with likely limited opportunities, unless Taylor suffers an injury.
Limited opportunity in loss
Sermon saw just two snaps on offense and five on special teams in Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Lions. Sermon rarely saw the field as Jonathan Taylor played 96 percent of the Colts' offensive snaps, leaving little to no opportunities for the rest of the team's backfield. It was the first time since Week 1 that Sermon didn't get at least a target or carry.
Sparse playing time in win
Sermon had one reception for three yards on his only target and did not have a carry in Sunday's win at the Jets. He played just five snaps on offense as Jonathan Taylor played on 63 of the offense's 70 snaps. Sermon did play more snaps than Tyler Goodson (two snaps) but it may be Goodson that has more of a role as a pass catcher if the Colts fall far behind. Either way, neither Sermon or Goodson currently has much of a role if Taylor is fully healthy.
Plays just two snaps in loss
Sermon did not have a carry but had one reception for four yards in Sunday's loss to Buffalo. He played just two snaps on offense. Sermon has fallen behind Tyler Goodson in the competition for playing time behind Jonathan Taylor. However, Goodson played just nine snaps as Taylor played on 84% of the offense's snaps and was on the field late in the game despite the Colts falling far behind. Both trends don't bode well for Sermon's usage when all three backs are healthy.
Limited role against Minnesota
Sermon rushed twice for four yards and caught one of two targets for nine yards in Sunday's 21-13 loss to the Vikings. Sermon played just 14 of the Colts' 54 offensive snaps Sunday, behind starter Jonathan Taylor (39) and Tyler Goodson (1). The 25-year-old operated in a minimal role as the Colts' No. 2 running back, and he should continue to see limited opportunities as long as Taylor can stay healthy. Sermon and the Colts will host the Bills in Week 10.
Back to limited role on offense
Sermon had one reception for 14 yards and no carries in Sunday's loss at Houston. With the return of Jonathan Taylor from an ankle injury, Sermon moved to a limited backup role. Sermon played on just 10 of the offense's 64 snaps while Taylor played on 52 snaps and Tyler Goodson played on two snaps. Sermon likely will have a minimal role while Taylor is healthy.
Takes back seat Sunday
Sermon carried the ball eight times for 36 yards and caught his only target for 13 yards in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Dolphins. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) still sidelined, Sermon got the start in the Colts' backfield but surprisingly played second fiddle to Tyler Goodson -- Goodson saw 14 carries and turned them into 51 yards and his first career TD. Taylor could be back in Week 8 against the Texans, but if he's not ready to go, coach Shane Steichen might decide to ride the hot hand between Sermon and Goodson again, making both backs volatile fantasy options.
