Joins Ravens' practice squad
The Ravens signed Mitchell-Paden (undisclosed) to their practice squad Monday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. The Maryland native was waived by the Browns with an injury designation in late August, but following his addition to Baltimore's practice squad, it appears he's moved past his undisclosed issue. Mitchell-Paden has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game after going undrafted out of Florida Atlantic in 2022.
Waived by Browns
The Browns waived Mitchell-Paden (undisclosed) on Tuesday, Kelsey Russo of the team's official site reports. Mitchell-Paden sustained an undisclosed injury during Cleveland's preseason contest against the Vikings nearly two weeks ago. However, it now appears he's past the issue, as he was dropped by the Browns without an injury designation Tuesday. The Florida Atlantic product has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game, but he may return to the Browns' practice squad if he clears waivers.
Limps off field Saturday
Mitchell-Paden caught four-of-four targets for 59 yards and limped off the field with an undisclosed injury late in Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports. Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said following the game that he expects Mitchell-Paden to be okay. He was one of two tight ends to sustain an injury. Giovanni Ricci was removed late in the first half with a knee injury and immediately ruled out. Stefanski did not provide an update on Ricci, who projects as a special teams player and third tight end. Mitchell-Paden could move up the depth chart pending Ricci's status.
