Zay Flowers Latest News
Team-high catch total in win
Flowers secured six of seven targets for 53 yards in the Ravens' 35-14 win over the Giants on Sunday. Flowers finished with team-high catch and target totals in the lopsided win, but he was only third in receiving yards behind Rashod Bateman and Justice Hill. The second-year wideout has eclipsed 50 receiving yards in three straight games for the first time this season heading into a Week 16 home matchup against the Steelers on Saturday afternoon.
Leads team with 74 yards
Flowers finished with three receptions (on seven targets) for 74 yards in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Eagles. Flowers finished as the Ravens' leading receiver Sunday, but both of Lamar Jackson's passing scores went to tight ends (Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely). The 23-year-old Flowers set a new personal best for receiving yards in a season (863) in three fewer games compared to his strong rookie campaign in 2023. The budding sophomore has become a solid option across all fantasy leagues while serving as Baltimore's No. 1 wideout this year. The Ravens will enter a bye week before resuming play against the Giants on Dec. 15.
Paces pass catchers in win
Flowers secured five of eight targets for 62 yards in the Ravens' 30-23 win over the Chargers on Monday night. Flowers tied for the team lead in receptions while setting the pace in both receiving yards and targets. The speedy second-year wideout recorded catches of 22 and 25 yards among his five grabs, and Monday marked only the second time he cleared 60 receiving yards in his eight sub-100-yard efforts. Flowers should have another key role during a Week 13 home interconference showdown against the Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
Hauls in TD in Sunday's loss
Flowers caught two of six targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 18-16 loss to the Steelers. The second-year wideout was headed for an awful performance until he hooked up with Lamar Jackson for a 16-yard score with just over one minute left in the fourth quarter. The Ravens were unable to add a two-point conversion however, as their comeback effort fell short. Flowers is still prone to occasional quiet games, but over the last seven games he's posted an impressive 35-569-3 line on 52 targets. He'll look to make an impact again in Week 12 against the Chargers.
Limited to four catches Thursday
Flowers secured four of six targets for 34 yards in the Ravens' 35-34 win over the Bengals on Thursday night. Flowers finished with the second-most receptions and third-most targets for the Ravens on the night, but he was much quieter than in his previous two games when he'd recorded a combined 242 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Flowers' catch total was also his second lowest of the last six contests, but he could well bounce back in what should be a highly competitive Week 11 divisional road showdown against the Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Torches Denver in Sunday's win
Flowers caught five of six targets for 127 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 41-10 rout of the Broncos. Both scores came in the second quarter as Flowers was on the other end of seven-yard and 53-yard strikes from Lamar Jackson. The Ravens' acquisition of Diontae Johnson doesn't seem likely to threaten Flowers' spot as Jackson's top downfield option -- the second-year wideout has erupted for four 100-yard performances in the last five games, although Sunday's TDs were his first since Week 2. Flowers could be poised for big numbers again in Week 10 against a Bengals secondary he posted a 7-111-0 line against on 12 targets in their first meeting.
Strong showing against Browns
Flowers recorded seven receptions on 12 targets for 115 yards in Sunday's 29-24 loss to the Browns. Flowers' availability was in question after he suffered an ankle injury in Week 7 and managed only one limited practice during the week. However, he turned in his third 100-yard performance in his last four games, highlighted by lengthy receptions of 29, 25, 23 and 21 yards. Flowers has had an impressive sophomore season, with the only drawback being that he has just one touchdown across eight contests.
Active versus Cleveland
Flowers (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Browns. After not practicing Wednesday or Thursday due to an ankle issue that he sustained early in this past Monday night's win over the Buccaneers, Flowers returned to a limited session Friday, during which the wideout was moving around well, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. In the absence of any limitations or in-game setbacks, Flowers -- who approached Sunday's contest listed as questionable -- should have an opportunity to maintain his key role in the Ravens' passing game, a context that has led to him recording a 34/412/1 receiving line on 49 targets through seven games to date. Prior to his one-catch effort against Tampa Bay (while recording a 71 percent snap share), the 2023 first-rounder had combined for 16 catches on 21 targets for 243 yards in his two previous outings.
Set to suit up Sunday
Flowers (ankle), who is questionable for Sunday's Week 8 clash against the Browns, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Flowers is officially questionable for Sunday and had been considered a game-time decision, but it appears that he'll be able to take the field against Cleveland. The second-year receiver has been Baltimore's top pass catcher this season, tallying 49 catches for 412 yards and a touchdown over seven games. Flowers had only one catch for 11 yards and one rush for 19 yards last Sunday against Tampa Bay while playing through the ankle injury, so it's possible that the issue will impact his production to some extent against the Browns.
