Charlene Sumlin is the wife of Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, whose Aggies open the season Thursday night at South Carolina.
Here’s what you need to know about her:

Met her in Minneapolis, when I was coaching Minnesota. Had some mutual friends. We became friends first because of mutual friends.
Their relationship is still strong, with her tweeting recently :
The quiet acts of kindness my husband does over and over for people makes my heart swell. I am married to a good man. ❤️

3. She Finds It Hard to Move Around So Much
He told College Sports, “A lot of people would probably find it difficult, and it is difficult. It’s probably been hardest on (Charlene). The original move from Minneapolis, because her parents are there, to West Lafayette, was probably the hardest. And then they’ve all been hard because she’s a person who develops friendships and is not isolated. They become part of the community. She has friends at all the stops.
In 2012, she told KBTX that she was happy to be back in Texas.
“What about the Aggie Spirit? You’ve been through this before. I missed it. I missed it. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to jump back into the yells. I love it. I missed it. We’re very excited,” she said.
4. She’s Charitable
Here she is raising money for the March of Dimes. “I stand proudly with the March of Dimes,” she says.
5. She Likes to Cook

She gave Heart for the Game a recipe for tailgate sandwiches, and said:
I have so many fun things I like to make, but this recipe is so perfect for tailgating. I usually make one pan to bring to tailgate and one to leave home so we can have them for a late night snack. The recipe comes from an OU friend of mine, Caryn Ross.
