Vikings rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater is having a solid showing against the Falcons. On this play, the rookie escaped the pocket and ran for the his first career rushing touchdown.

The Minnesota Vikings controlled the first half and took a 24-14 lead into halftime.

Matt Asiata started things for the Vikings with a 3-yard touchdown run. After Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan found wide receiver Roddy White for a 24-yard touchdown, Asiata ran in from six yards out.

Atlanta responded early in the second quarter when Ryan hit Patrick DiMarco for a 1-yard touchdown pass.

Minnesota rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who is making his first career start, then ran in for a 13-yard touchdown – his first career rushing touchdown (video below).

Vikings kicker Blair Walsh then tacked on an 18-yard field goal shortly before halftime.

Brad Walsh hit a field goal to give Minnesota a 38-28 lead with less than four minutes remaining.

After Minnesota quarterback Matt Cassel broke his foot last week, Teddy Bridgewater will make his first career start.

After Cassel went down last week, Bridgewater was 12-of-20 passing for 150 yards. He’ll earn his first career start at home with support from fans who have already chanted his name in two preseason games this year.

The former Louisville star will also be facing Atlanta’s 25th-ranked pass defense.
