Peyton Manning wasted no time Sunday night tying Brett Favre’s career touchdown record, throwing two touchdown passes in the first quarter against the 49ers.

Once the record was tied, it didn’t take Manning too long to break it, either. A play after falling down and being forced to take a sack, Manning hit Demaryius Thomas in the corner of the endzone with 3:09 left in the first half for career touchdown pass No. 509.

Thomas, one of Manning’s favorite targets since arriving in Denver, maneuvered to get both feet in-bounds for the score. The pass had the added benefit of building the Broncos’ lead to 21-3. Watch the video here:

Touchdown No. 508 came with 2:59 left in the first quarter, when Manning hit Wes Welker down the left sideline and Welker dove into the endzone for a score that made it 14-0 Denver. Watch that video here:
