Mississippi State (9-0) remained in the top spot of the third release of the weekly rankings after a 45-16 win over UT Martin.
The Horned Frogs (8-1), No. 6 last week, are coming off a 41-20 win over then-No. 7 Kansas State. It was enough to propel them past Alabama (8-1), which remained at No. 5 after defeating LSU 20-13 in overtime last weekend.
The Ducks (9-1) were third a week ago, but cruised to a 51-27 road win over then-No. 17 Utah. In the latest rankings, the committee swapped Oregon with Florida State, which was No. 2 last week. The Seminoles are undefeated at 9-0 after a 34-20 win over Virginia.
Arizona State (8-1) moved from No. 9 to 6 with a 55-31 win over then-No. 10 Notre Dame, which dropped to 18th.
