How Tall Is Tom Brady?

Tom Brady is 6-foot-4. That’s pretty tall to the average person. But Tom Brady isn’t your average person. He’s a future Hall of Fame quarterback looking to win his 4th Super Bowl.

Actually, most NFL players aren’t average, physically at least. And 6-4 really isn’t that tall when you scan the league’s rosters, but it is an above average height for an NFL quarterback. The median is somewhere between 6-2 and 6-3. The tallest is Denver backup Brock Osweiler, who stands an NBA forward-like 6-foot-8, while the shortest is Super Bowl winner Russell Wilson (5-11) of Seattle.

At 6-4, Brady is same height as other starters like Andrew Luck, Eli Manning, Colin Kaepernick, Matt Ryan, Kyle Orton, Ryan Tannehill and Alex Smith.

Being vertically-superior as a QB has its advantages for sure – namely being able to see downfield over the linemen – but it doesn’t automatically make you a Pro Bowler. I mean, Brady wasn’t blessed with the athletic prowess most players in the league possess, but he’s in the NFL, so he’s obviously no slouch. The speed isn’t there. Never was, really. Just take a gander at Brady’s 40-yard dash from the 2000 Combine:

But Brady just happens to have great vision, a strong, accurate arm, more brains than most and the “it” factor 99 percent of the population does not.

I don’t think Bill Belichick or the people of New England would trade those qualities and the 3 championships for a little extra speed and athleticism.
