Russell Wilson and the Seahawks lost the Super Bowl on a Malcolm Butler goal-line interception. Watch the vine above.
Butler told Mass Live he made the interception by reading Wilson’s eyes.
Eyes. Eyes tell everything. I (saw) Wilson looking over there and trying to keep his head still, just look over there like this.
So that gave me a clue. And stack receivers, I just knew they were going to throw and my instincts went with my mind and made the play.
This was Butler’s first season after going undrafted out of West Alabama and signing with the team as a free agent. The interception was the first of his career. He played in 11 games this season and had a total of 15 tackles.
The Patriots won the game 28-14.
Tom Brady broke the records for both most Super Bowl touchdown passes and most Super Bowl wins by a quarterback. He also tied Montana for being named MVP for the third time.
