Former Milwaukee Bucks Larry Sanders said he has received treatment for anxiety and depression and those are the reasons he has left the NBA.
Sanders was waived by the team Saturday night, sought treatment for his problems.
In The Players’ Tribune he wrote:
I know I disappeared for a while, people wondering where I was. I actually entered into Rogers Memorial Hospital, and it was a program for anxiety and depression, mood disorders.
Sanders was suspended for 5 games last April for testing positive for marijuana, which he said he began using to treat his anxiety.
The 26-year-old Sanders was drafted by the Bucks with the 15th overall pick in the 2010 draft out of VCU. He has averaged 6.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game over his career.
