Devon Still took to Instagram on Tuesday night to make an announcement — after his daughter Leah’s most recent MINBG scans, doctors have determined that there is no “active disease” in Leah’s body.
Leah was first diagnosed with Stage 4 pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma last June. Leah had been repeatedly in and out of hospital undergoing continuous testing and treatments for the cancer. #LeahStrong has been a popular hashtag on Twitter.
In September, Leah finally had the six-hour procedure done by doctors that officially removed the cancerous tumor.
Throughout the experience, Still has used his popularity as an NFL player to bring awareness to his daughter’s situation. The two wrote a book together about children fighting cancer.
With the test results, signs point to Leah being cancer free, nine months after she was first diagnosed.
Other players and NFL personalities took to Twitter on Tuesday night to show their continued support:
According to Still’s Instagram post, there is still one more hurdle to clear.
We still have to wait for her MRI and bone biopsy results later this week. But the doctors feel very optimistic about them because of the results from today.
This is still great news for Devon, Leah and the rest of their family.
