Tom Izzo knows how to get his team ready for the postseason. His Michigan State Spartans didn’t have their best regular season as they compiled 11 losses, but it’s something about this time of year that wakes the team up.
They did just that Friday vs. No. 10 seed Georgia. The 7th-seeded Spartans picked up 70-63 win in their East Regional NCAA Tournament opener.
MSU plays again Sunday, facing No. 2 Virginia, who pulled away late to beat No. 15 Belmont.
The Spartans will be looking for their 4th-straight trip to the Sweet 16.
With their victory, the Cavaliers got their 30th win.
