The NFL’s new year *officially* kicked off today — that didn’t necessarily stop players and teams from making the sports world go crazy with verbal agreements and abundant rumors at the end of last week and throughout last weekend.
This chaotic period is now referred to as the “Legal Tampering Window” and it has solicited some excellent responses:
In today’s NFL world, no longer are players waiting until the day Free Agency starts to be wowed. Instead, players are secretly plotting their getaways weeks, possibly months in advance. Other Rumors:
DeMarco Murray and his agent have had minimal contact with the Dallas Cowboys in the last few days. Murray has been expected to leave the organization, although the Cowboys would like to re-sign him. The Buccaneers and Jaguars are two teams interested in the star runningback.
According to Albert Breer, the Indianapolis Colts are pursuing former Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson and former San Francisco runningback Frank gore hard. (Johnson to presumably replace Reggie Wayne’s production)
According to Rand Getlin, the Cardinals are looking to make a run at Adrian Peterson.
The San Francisco 49ers — who have already lost Justin Smith, Ray McDonald, Patrick Willis and (what seems like) their entire secondary in the last two seasons — have serious interest in former Carolina Panther defensive end and recently available, Greg Hardy.
