Odds of Winning
Chavez enters the ring a favorite in Vegas and on online sportsbooks (see odds below). But Chicago resident Fonfara is a hungry up-and-comer and brings to the fight with an impressive skill set a and solid resume of past opposition.
Former WBC middleweight world champion Chavez (48-1, 32 KOs) is coming off a one-year layoff. He was last in the ring outpointing Brian Vera in a March 2014 rematch, having also beaten the veteran brawler in their prior encounter in 2013. Previous to his two meetings against Vera, 29-year-old Chavez had suffered his only career-defeat at the hands of Sergio Martinez in a stunning 12-rounder.
