Trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Victor Espinoza look for a repeat of Churchill Downs as American Pharoah looks to become the 13th horse since 1978 to win the first two races in the Triple Crown season.
To do that, American Pharoah must fend off a series of horses that he had to once in the Kentucky Derby already as well as three newcomers. Dortmund, Firing Line (who finished 3rd and 2nd in the Derby respectively) as well as Danzig Moon and Mr. Z are back for the party. Joining them are Bodhisattva, Tale of Verve and Divining Rod to round out the 8-horse field, the smallest Preakness field since 2000.
