Copa America 2015 begins on June 11, 2015 in Chile and Ecuador are one of the sleepers. They will open with a match against hosts Chile on June 11, and are also in the same group as 22nd in FIFA rankings Mexico.

Ecuador’s Copa America results are as follows:

June 11, 2015 : Chile at Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile ( 2-0 win for Chile )

June 15, 2015 : Bolivia at Estadio Elias Figueroa in Valparaiso, Chile ( 3-2 win for Bolivia )

June 21, 2015 : Mexico at Estadio El Teniente in Rancagua, Chile
( 2-1 win for Ecuador )

Ecuador finished third in Group A of the 2015 Copa America and did not qualify for the knockout round.

Ecuador is still only one of three teams that have never won Copa America:

In 2011, Ecuador was in the “Group of Death” with Brazil, Venezuela, and Paraguay, earning only one point in a draw with Paraguay.
