As expected, LeBron James did his thing in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 97-89 Eastern Conference Championship Game 1 victory over the Hawks in Atlanta.
James had 31 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
But it was J.R. Smith‘s 8 3-pointers and 28 points that sparked the Cavs to the road win. The 8 3s set a team record and gave the Hawks another Cavalier weapon to prepare for when they host Cleveland in Game 2 Friday night.
Atlanta will look to avoid going down 0-2 before the series shifts to Cleveland on Sunday.
Friday’s game tips off at 8:30 p.m. Eastern and will be televised by TNT. On the call is Marv Albert (play-by-play), Reggie Miller (analyst), Chris Webber (analyst), David Aldridge (reporter) and Rachel Nichols (reporter). This crew is scheduled to handle all the games of the series.
