Jose Luis Chilavert played 22 years of professional soccer, 14 as the goalie for the Paraguayan national team as well, but may be best known for his goalie scoring prowess. He scored 67 goals between his club career and time with the national team, but the three time goalie of the year had his best outing on November 28, 1999. For Velez Sarsfield of the Argentine Professional Soccer team, Chilavert converted three penalty kicks for goals.
This hat trick against Ferro is the only hat trick in professional soccer history by a goalie.
