Much like many of the other big events in Toronto this past week at the 2015 Pan American Games, the women’s basketball competition comes down to the United States and Canada for the gold medal.
The Americans, led by UConn star and two-time National Player of the Year Breanna Stewart, are the favorites, but they nearly slipped up in the semifinals against Cuba, needing two late free throws from Linnae Harper to erae an 11-point halftime deficit and squeak out a 65-64 victory.
Canada, on the other hand, comes in red hot after a 91-63 trouncing of Brazil. The hosts have plenty of talent themselves with the Indiana Fever’s Natalie Achonwa, UCLA star Nirra Fields and UConn’s AAC Freshman of the Year Kia Nurse.
Tip-off is at 8:45 p.m. ET on Monday, July 20, 2015. The game will broadcast live on ESPNU, but if you can’t watch it there, here’s how to view it online and on mobile:
