The third week of the preseason is usually when the starters are at their busiest. Most play a half, and often times will play into the third quarter. That might not be the case when the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers meet on Saturday night.
An ACL injury will cost Packers superstar wideout Jordy Nelson the entire season, which he suffered in last week’s game against the Steelers. Early indications are that the Packers will be even more careful as the result of the injury and sit out several players for the final two preseason games.
The Eagles have won both of their preseason games in emphatic fashion, scoring more than 36 points in each matchup. A preseason star thus far has been returner Kenjon Barner, one of many former Oregon players on the roster. Barner has a pair of touchdowns and might earn a roster spot as a result.
