Another week of football, another player down with an ACL injury. And an MCL injury.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick will miss the entire 2015 season after tearing both his ACL and MCL during practice on Tuesday night. The 28-year-old will undergo surgery after an MRI revealed tears in both ligaments, leaving a big-time hold in the team’s secondary.

According to reports Scandrick’s knee buckled as he broke up a pass intended for rookie receiver Lucky Whitehead, whose momentum carried him into the cornerback. Dallas secondary coach Jerome Henderson told media, “He said immediately, ‘It’s my ACL. I know it. It’s gone.'” Scandrick had been solid throughout the preseason, starting camp with the first interception of the year and making a name for himself in the Cowboys secondary.

Now Dallas will look to find a replacement for Scandrick in Saturday night’s preseason matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, the team’s preseason home opener. Second-year corner Tyler Patmon will likely see more snaps while first-round pick Byron Jones could see more time split between safety and corner.

Kickoff for the preseason matchup is slated for 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast locally on FOX 9 in Minneapolis and CBS 11 in Dallas. Click here for a full TV schedule. Here’s how you can also watch the game online and on mobile:
