Serena Williams starts her pursuit of history Monday evening, with a first round match on the Arthur Ashe Stadium against unseeded Russian Vitalia Diatchenko. Should the World Number 1 prove victorious in just under two weeks’ time, she’ll become the first woman to win a Calendar Grand Slam since Steffi Graf achieved the feat back in 1988. Victory at Flushing Meadow will also see Williams tie Graf’s total of 22 career Grand Slams, the record for the Open era, as well as become the first woman to win five consecutive Grand Slams since 1989. So no pressure.

Elsewhere, Rafael Nadal opens his tournament against Croatian Borna Coric in the late game on Arthur Ashe, while Novak Djokovic faces Brazilian Joao Souza earlier in the day.
