Chiefs safety Eric Berry made his regular season NFL home debut after being declared cancer-free a few months ago. Last December, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
While Berry played in the preseason, he made his regular season home debut on Thursday night football against the Broncos. In the above video, you can see his emotional return to Kansas City as he is announced to the home crowd. Berry received quite the ovation and his determination has been a source of inspiration to many people.
In a recent press conference, he mentioned Stuart Scott’s determination as encouragement:
“I was just taking it day by day. I think the thing that clicked was when Stuart Scott died. He made the remark that how you beat cancer is how you live.”
