Daniel Sturridge is ahead of schedule and back in training from his hip injury, but he will likely not feature in Liverpool’s match with Manchester United on Saturday. Out since April, Sturridge will return to the lineup in the near future.

Manchester got a huge boost ahead of the match too as goalkeeper David de Gea signed a new contract to stay with the club for the next four seasons. De Gea was a lock to join Real Madrid all summer but Los Blancos fumbled the signing at the deadline and now De Gea will stay in Manchester.

New signing Anthony Martial is also likely to take the field at some point Saturday. Manchester United won their opening two matches, but drew with Newcastle and lost to Swansea before the international break.

During the week, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard gave a candid interview describing his exit from the club.
