US Open 2015 Schedule: Day 9 Matches & Order of Play

The quantity of matches at the 2015 US Open may be decreasing, but the quality only continues to get better.

Among the four quarterfinal matches at Flushing Meadows on Tuesday, the most anticipated is obvious. Serena Williams vs. Venus Williams. Six-time US Open champ vs. two-time US Open champ. Sister vs. sister for the 27th time. Serena is clearly the favorite as she continues her quest for a calendar grand slam, but this is a drop-everything-you’re-doing-and-watch kind of match.

No. 1 Novak Djokovic is also in action, although the best match of the day may not feature either of the top seeds. During early play at Arthur Ashe, defending US Open champion Maric Cilic takes on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who has struggled in 2015 but has held all 56 service games and looked fantastic thus far at Flushing Meadows. Don’t be surprised if that one goes a full five sets.
