The New York Giants will try to avoid going 0-3 for the second time in three years on Thursday night, squaring off against the Washington Redskins in a divisional matchup on Thursday night.
But let’s be honest, it won’t be easy.
The Redskins are coming off a strong, and somewhat surprising, victory over the St. Louis Rams last week. Washington’s offense line has come into its own and the ground attack has blossomed, thanks in large part to rookie running back Matt Jones. If the Redskins can stay consistent on offense, and if Kirk Cousins can limit the turnovers, they can control the game’s tempo and keep the New York on its toes.
The key for the Giants is to find a big-time playmaker. Or rather, a big-time playmaker not named Odell Beckham, Jr. The second-year wide receiver was dominant against the Falcons last week but he can’t carry the team by himself. New York cut receiver Preston Parker earlier this week, so expect to see Rueben Randle and tight end Larry Donnell targeted a bit more on Thursday night.
Kickoff for the game is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET on both CBS and NFL Network. Not near a TV? That’s ok. Here’s how to watch the NFC East faceoff online and on mobile:
