Apparently Johnny Manziel and Travis Benjamin have pretty solid chemistry.
After connecting for Manziel’s first career passing TD on a 54-yarder last week, the two did it again early against the Tennessee Titans, hooking up for a 60-yard touchdown on Cleveland’s opening drive:
Manziel, who got the Week 2 start for the concussed Josh McCown, has drawn plenty of criticism early in his career, but his sophomore year has already shown plenty of glimpses of what makes him an exciting talent. He has rare athleticism at the position, and his deep-ball accuracy certainly isn’t a problem.
McCown is reportedly set to get his starting job back once healthy, but if Johnny Football continues to make more plays like this, he’s going to make head coach Mike Pettine’s decision much more difficult.
