Brad Solomon vs. Raymond Serrano: Result & Highlights

Brad Solomon improved his perfect record to 26-0, with 9 KOs by outpointing Raymond Serrano on the co-main event on Friday’s MetroPC Friday Night Knockout on truTV at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, New York.

After 10 rounds of action, the judges handed out a unanimous decision win to Solomon; their scorecards reading 100-90, 98-92, and 97-93.

Solomon took out every tool out of his toolbox to get the win: he jabbed, he slugged, and he boxed. He tried hunting, and he tried countering, and hunted some more. But the Lafayette, Louisiana native was never quite able to completely figure out Serrano (21-3, 9 KOs). Still, Solomon’s higher output, accurate jabs, and control of the action was more than enough to earn him a landslide win on the cards.

Brad Solomon, a 32-year-old former WBA International welterweight champ, had made his last ring appearance with a split decision win over Adrian Granados in May. Going into the Granados bout, Solomon had dominated journeyman Eduardo Flores on his way to a on-sided decision win and had stopped faded former world title contender Freddy Hernandez.

Raymond Serrano, a 26-year-old from fight city Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, entered Friday’s contest riding a three-bout winning streak over Wilfredo Acuna, Jerome Rodriguez, and Jeremy Bryan. These victories coming on the heels of back-to-back defeats at the hand of next-levelers Emmanuel Taylor and Karim Mayfield.
