The culmination of what has been a historic thoroughbred racing season happens Saturday at the 2015 Breeders’ Cup.
Featuring the best of the best, there are nine races scheduled for Keeneland. Each features a purse of at least $1 million, concluding with the Classic, a 1 1/4-mile race for a whopping $5 million. That’s as much as the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes combined.
Not only that, the Classic will be American Pharoah’s swan song. The Triple Crown winner won’t get the much-anticipated battle against Beholder, who was scratched, but he will get a rematch against Keen Ice, the only horse to best him.
Coverage of the races begins at 1 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network and shifts to NBC at 4 p.m. ET. The Classic’s scheduled post time is 5:35 p.m. ET. If you can’t get to a TV, here’s how to watch online or on mobile:
