Daniel Murphy is on fire, and not even Jake Arrieta can cool him off.
The New York Mets second baseman continued his unbelievable streak Sunday night, hitting a two-run shot off Arrieta in the first inning of Game 2. It was already his second home run of the NLCS, and his fifth of the postseason. That’s a franchise record for a single postseason, and it ties him with Mike Piazza for a career:
And as ESPN’s Adam Rubin noted, he’s done it off a couple of pretty good pitchers:
That would be three legitimate Cy Young candidates and a two-time World Series champ. Not bad.
