That’s how you jump-start a rally.
With the New York Mets trailing 2-1 in the fourth inning of Thursday’s NLDS Game 5, Daniel Murphy displayed some heads-up base-running when he had the wherewithal to move from first to third base on a walk. The crafty play turned out to be beneficial, as he scored on a sac-fly the next at-bat, tying the game at two.
Murphy had quite the Game 5. In his very next at-bat, he hit a home run to right, giving the Mets a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning that they would hold for good. He went 3-for-4 on the night with seven total bases, two runs, two RBI and one very unique stolen base.
