Well, that’s one way to get some insurance runs on the board.
Kendrys Morales drilled a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to pad the Kansas City Royals lead in Game 5 of the ALDS. And you’ll never guess who he hit the homer off of; Dallas Keuchel.
That’s right. Keuchel, the Houston Astros ace, came in in relief in the bottom of the eighth inning. And while the Cy Young contender was brought in to keep things close at the plate, his approach led to Morales’ hit. Check out the play right here:
He looked pretty happy, right? And here’s a fun Keuchel pitching fact. He’d only given up one three-run homer all season before Morales took him yard on Wednesday night.
