Houston is going all-out for Thursday Night Football.
Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard will lead the Texans onto the field tonight, and Houston native Yolanda Adams will sing the anthem before the Colts and Texans kick off.
Since the 1990’s, Yolanda Adams has been a presence in gospel music. The eldest of six children growing up in Houston, Adams is a four-time Grammy winner. These days she hosts the Yolanda Adams Morning Show, which streams online weekdays from 6-11 a.m. EST.
Adams best hit was in 1999 with her seventh studio album, “Mountain High…Valley Low,” which had several successful singles. The album was a crossover R&B hit, and it earned Adams the Grammy award for Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album.
Adams is also an author. In 2010 she published, “Points of Power: Discover a Spirit-Filled Life of Joy and Purpose.” The book’s description includes positive reviews from Steve Harvey and Tyler Perry.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EST, so expect to see Adams around ten minutes before the Colts and Texans take the field.
