Sometimes, the most dangerous collisions in this game aren’t between two players. Such was the case in Jacksonville today, when Jaguars WR Allen Hurns was stretchered off the field in the fourth quarter, after a hard landing on a diving catch attempt.
Hurns lay on the field for several minutes, before he was placed on the stretcher and carted off. He gave two thumbs up as he left the field.
The stretcher may only be a precaution, as Hurns was able to move his extremities while laying on the ground.
Allen Hurns is a great young receiver for the Jaguars, and this would set their offense back tremendously. Hurns has caught a pass in all 27 career games since being signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
It’s injury to insult for the Jags, who were shredded by Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers. The loss drops them to 4-7 this season, and likely spoils any playoff chances for this young team.
