Jameis Winston is a rookie, but the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t counting on him playing like one.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback led his team to a victory over the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday and has continued to improve with every single snap. It’s enough to put the Eagles defense on guard.
“As a rookie they’re giving him some checks at the line and he’s doing a good job with it. He’s protecting the ball better,” said Philadelphia defensive coordinator Billy Davis. “I just got done watching that Tennessee game where he wasn’t quite (ready) and turned it over a few times. He’s gotten better. He’s learned.”
Now, with the Eagles reeling after yet another disappointing late-game loss, Philadelphia looks to contain Winston and try to regain some of its offensive footing this Sunday.
Kickoff for the game is slated for 1 p.m. ET and is being broadcast, in local markets, on FOX. Click here to check and see if you fall within the coverage zone. Not in the area or a TV? Here’s how to watch online and on mobile:
