Eden Hazard is sick.
The Belgian international is a key member of Belgium’s attack, and the Chelsea winger has an illness that prevented him from training on Sunday. That could keep him off the field today against Spain, in the team’s last big test before the December EURO draw.
Belgium and Spain haven’t met since 2009. The Belgians were a completely different team back then, and they fell to Spain 0-5. That was at the front of Spain’s historic run through international soccer, before the young Belgians were ready. Things started to change in 2014, when Spain saw an early exit in Brazil while Belgium advanced to the quarterfinals. Now Belgium is the worlds top-ranked team, and they carry a five match win streak into their meeting today.
