Ronda Rousey‘s presence at UFC 193 is the reason many are expecting attendance records to be broken in Melbourne on Saturday night, but before she takes on Holly Holm, and before the main card gets under way, there are a couple of intriguing preliminary fights to get you prepared.
The headliner of the prelims is a lightweight battle between Jake Matthews and Akbarh Arreola. The former is coming off his first professional loss at the hands of James Vick in May, but the 21-year-old Australian is a big, physical specimen who is still seen as a bright UFC prospect. Competing on his first preliminary card at a PPV event, he should try to put on a show in front of his home crowd against the veteran Arreola.
Another one to watch will be the opener between Ben Nguyen and Ryan Benoit. Not only should the pair of young, exciting flyweights put on an entertaining fight, but the winner could very well be looking at a shot against a ranked opponent.
