Arsenal need a big win tonight in Greece, where they are winless in five straight appearances. Olympiakos beat Arsenal 3-2 in London to open Champions League play, and now the Gunners will need to better that scoreline to advance to the Round of 16 on goal differential.
Injuries continue to plague Arsenal, and some of their best scorers will miss tonight’s match. Chilean Alexis Sanchez and Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla are both out, two key players in Arsene Wenger’s attack. But Wenger has maintained that although his team are in danger of making their 16th consecutive Knockout stage appearance, the pressure is all on the Greeks tonight.
“Against a side that is at the moment qualified but they can lose what they have and that can create a fear factor, the best way for us to achieve it is to believe in our quality,” Wenger said earlier this week.
“We just want to give absolutely everything to qualify tomorrow, if you want to jump over a hurdle you don’t think what happens if you miss.”
