Arsenal don’t need to see the Black Cats when they make their way to the Emirates on Saturday.
Their November was filled with bad luck.
The Gunners only played three matches last month, but lost a handful of players due to injury. When Wenger spoke with reporters this week, he was happy to eager to step into December.
“Yes I’m glad November is over because in the last couple of weeks we lost Francis, Alexis and Santi – basically three players in two games,” said Wenger. “That is of course too much, but hopefully we now have Theo not too far away, and Koscielny coming back too.”
For whoever plays Saturday, they’ll meet a Sunderland side that is playing their best football so far this season. The Black Cats have won consecutive matches for the first time this season, and are looking to score their first-ever win at the Emirates. Sunderland has never won, but they’ve forced a scoreless draw at Arsenal in three of the last five league meetings.
