Bad news for fantasy owners and Seattle Seahawks fans. Running back Thomas Rawls left the game against the Ravens early in the 1st quarter with an ankle injury. He was ruled out for the game.
The question fantasy players want to know is who the Seahawks next running back up will be. Fred Jackson and Dejuan Harris received the carries in Rawls absence. The Seahawks are already without Marshawn Lynch who is continuing to rehab from an injury.
While many fantasy owners will run to pick up Jackson, the player to keep an eye on is Harris. Harris has experience in the league and was the Packers running back in the playoffs several years ago.
Harris got off to a bad start against the Ravens by fumbling the ball in the redzone. However, he continued to get carries in the game.
Rawls has been ruled out for the season and Harris is a must add in all fantasy leagues though he does not have the same fantasy value as Rawls.
Harris received the majority of carries in Rawls’ absence with 18 rushes against the Ravens. He did not look particularly effective with just 42 total yards. That equates to 2.3 yards per carry and his longest run was for 6 yards.
The Seahawks could look to add another running back this week given the absence of both Rawls and Lynch. You should consider that before the waivers run in your league.
Unless something changes, Harris not Jackson needs to be added to your fantasy team. Just do not expect him to produce like Rawls, but the Seahawks will continue to make the running game a priority.
