Liverpool vs. Southampton: Time, Channel, & Lineup

(Getty)

Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson are ready to return for Liverpool today as they take on Southampton. The Saints will welcome back striker Graziano Pelle, but have a tough task at St. Mary’s Stadium if they want to reach the League Cup semifinals.

Klopp is eager to get his hobbled young stars back onto the pitch, but has acknowledged that he must be smart with their minutes. Speaking at a press conference before the match, Klopp stated, “We cannot ignore that this game could have overtime; 120 minutes would be too much for both [Sturridge and Henderson].”

Southampton is looking for a win after a disappointing showing over the weekend against Manchester City. The Saints lost 3-1, knocking them down to tenth in the BPL table. Southampton gave Liverpool a decent run earlier this year, when the teams played to a 1-1 draw at Anfield.
