Golden State Warriors star Andrew Iguodala won’t pay for his “genius” 6-year-old daughter to attend a private school, according to the child’s mother. A TMZ report says that Clayanna Warthen, 31, wants $58,000 per-month from the NBA player. The couple had a relationship that lasted between October 2004 and January 2009. In August 2015, Iguodala married long term girlfriend Christina Gutierrez in Mexico.

1. Her Daughter Has an IQ of 151, Putting Her in the Top 97% of the Country

TMZ reports that London Iguodala has an IQ of 151. That puts her into the top 97 percent of the country, according to statistics. The TMZ report says that Warthen can’t pay for London to stay at her private school on the $18,000 a month she’s getting right now. In July 2015, Iguodala joined the Golden State Warriors on a four-year $48 million contract. Aside from money, Warthen says that Iguodala won’t let her daughter meet the hoops star’s other children. The couple were due in court on the morning of January 4.


2. She Previously Sued Iguodala for Child Support in 2009

In June 2009, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Warthen was suing Iguodala, who was then playing for the 76ers, for child support. She was then seeking between $12,000 and $15,000 in support. Iguodala said at the time:

I feel blessed to have a healthy new daughter, and I will give her all of the love and support she needs for a happy and full life.

Warthen said that during her pregnancy, Iguodala had provided her with “$3,000 to $4,000 on several occasions during her pregnancy,” reported the Inquirer. That article also says that he was involved with Warthen while he was also in a relationship with his now-wife Christina Gutierrez.


3. She Has a Degree in Criminal Justice & Is a Hip-Hop Music Video Model

The Philadelphia Inquirer report from 2009 says that Warthen “bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and has put her plans for law school on hold.” She’s quoted in one online profile for hip-hop video models saying:

I took the LSAT when I was a sophomore, and did pretty good. There were 10 law schools that I wanted to get into, and I did good enough to get into four. So in five years if I don’t have a multimillion dollar [modeling] contract, then I’m just gonna pursue my law career.

She adds:

Everybody in my family’s locked up. But I’ve always been in touch with the law. Then I started reading law books because I’ve only been into self-help books. If it can’t help me, then I don’t wanna read it. I don’t wanna read The Coldest Winter Ever.

4. Her High School Nickname Was ‘Jazz’

According to her Facebook page, Warthen graduated from Pennsauken High School in Pennsauken, New Jersey and is a native of Camden. An article from the Philadelphia Inquirer from May 2001 detailed her time in high school, referring to her as “Jazz.” At the time, Warthen was speaking publicly about racism saying, “We are here to help you unlearn bias, prejudice, racism and bigotry. It’s important for a school, like this one, that has a lot of diversity…I know some of you may be offended by something your partner says, but if you sit there and argue, the activity won’t work”


5. Iguodala’s Marriage in August Capped Off a Remarkable Year for the NBA Veteran

Iguodala was married in August 2015 to Christina Gutierrez in Cabo, reported TMZ. This came just two months after Iguodala and his teammates had captured the NBA Championship with his performances against LeBron James coming in for serious congratulations, eventually resulting in him getting the finals MVP.
