Early Preview

The last time these two teams met, Tom Brady was washed up. Or, that’s at least what all the scolding-hot takes were saying. It was Week 4 of last season, and Brady went 14-of-23 for 159 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in a 41-14 Chiefs victory. It was his fourth sub-par game in a row, leading many to wonder what was wrong with him, but he proceeded to throw 14 touchdowns and zero interceptions in his next four, quickly silencing the doubters.

The health of Julian Edelman may prove crucial in this one. Out since Week 10, he is “on track” to play, which would be a huge boost for the Pats’ offense, which put up over 33 points per game in the nine contests Edelman was fully healthy for.

And the Pats will need to be at full strength for this one. The Chiefs have won 11 in a row, they absolutely destroyed the Houston Texans in the wild-card round and they are undoubtedly one of the hottest teams in the NFL, although they will likely be without Jeremy Maclin.

Kickoff for this one is Saturday, January 16 at 4:35 p.m. ET.
